To The Haters – A HoneyMaid “LOVE” StoryIn Commercial, Marketing
HoneyMaid, the graham cracker company, you know, the ones you use to make your s’mores, came out with this awesome add that I posted about here.
Of course, as with all bold moves by any brand, it was met with a certain level of resistance. For some reason, there are still people in this world the think being gay, interracial, or having tattoos is still a bad thing. I don’t know where these people are, but somehow they found their way to the internet and started hating.Twitter feeds filled up with comments about how ” disgusting” this awesome add was.
If you haven’t seen the ad, check it out here: HONEYMAID ROCKS THE MODERN FAMILY
Now, if for whatever reason you found that disgusting, disturbing, or just plain wrong, I urge you to get on your Twitter feed and rant about it. After all, if you can’t stand people who have different skin colors loving each other, or people who were born interested in the same sex finding happiness, the world better know about it.
Also it’s probably good if you don’t continue reading this post…
But, if you’re the kind of person who might not like the ad, but might take a moment to watch a video the spreads love in a very cool way, for you, there is more from this awesome brand.
After all the hate, HoneyMaid stepped away from what many brands do when they get beat up on social media and made a bold move. Instead of doing the standard, “We at Wussy Brand apologize for our bold commercial, we didn’t mean to offend anybody with this ad, and have taken it off air. We blah, blah, blah…” HoneyMaid decided to stand by their values and make another commercial to show what amazing things could be done with angry comments about a video of the modern family.
So, here it is, not only a very cool response to online outrage, but a very very cool art project as well.
This video just blows me away! I love everything about it. With the first video, and this response, I can honestly say that HoneyMaid has definitely bought some brand loyalty from me. To some of you, I may seem brand cheap, but I love it. Now, HoneyMaid doesn’t seem like just another faceless corporation with no values, but a company that really cares about people. This response video could not have been planned any better. So kudos to HoneyMaid, and kudos to their advertising agency.
Way to #DoGoodWork.
